John brings to Kentwood City Properties a broad-ranging wealth of experience from his previous career in oil & gas exploration and production. John holds a bachelor's degree in geology from the University of Colorado. He spent many years in the oil patch, and has lived and worked in many corners of the world.
Apart from his sojourns overseas, John has lived in Central Denver since 1968. During his high school years at the Denver Country Day School, his family lived in the Country Club neighborhood. He later renovated and lived in a Capitol Hill home for eight years, prior to moving to a home in the North Country Club neighborhood in 1991. He now lives in the Washington Park neighborhood. John made his office in an historic LoDo loft on Wazee Street for many years, and has watched and participated in the stunning rebirth of that urban neighborhood with much admiration and excitement.
John has four children, all of whom have attended Bromwell Elementary School in the Denver Public School system. His two younger children attend the Kent Denver School in Englewood.
John has a natural affinity for real estate. An ardent admirer of architectural style, design, and landscaping, John has the inherent ability to recognize quality and utility, as well as the ability to imagine what a given property may become with modification or re-development.
John knows and loves Denver and Colorado's high country. An avid outdoorsman, he spends free time skiing, biking, fishing, hiking, playing tennis, and camping with his family. He is a member of the Denver Board of Realtors, the Colorado Association of Realtors, and the National Association of Realtors. He is also a member of the Arapahoe Tennis Club, the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists, and the American Association of Petroleum Geologists.
John is a hard working, honest, and experienced professional. Above all, he enjoys having fun while doing business. Real estate provides a perfect environment for full utilization of his talents.
