Morrison is best known for Red Rocks Amphitheatre, one of the most renowned outdoor concert venues on the planet. Just about everyone in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has played at this legendary, naturally beautiful, and very picturesque locale. In fact, the most famous and legendary bands in the world tell their managers to book Red Rocks, even though the 9,000-seat theater is rather small for groups that can sell out football stadiums. For most rock bands, if you haven't played Red Rocks, then you haven't truly arrived among the legendary bands in the world.

Morrison's small main street is filled with restaurants, quaint shops, and antique haunts. The high-end, critic-approved wild-game establishment known as The Fort is a replica of Bent's Old Fort, an adobe building that is a celebration of the West that features a décor and southwestern food, quality wines, and decadent desserts.

A bike path skirts Bear Creek and leads to an extensive trail system and reservoir. Dinosaur Ridge is a must-see for geology and archeology buffs. Exposed dinosaur prints are perfectly entombed in sandstone all over this self-guided tour. A visitor center in Morrison may help you start the journey, and more bones are on display at the Morrison Natural History Museum. The town's cultural history is kept alive through artifacts and exhibits at the Morrison Heritage Museum behind town hall.

During the warm-weather months, the town's Bandimere Speedway hosts a variety of track events on a quarter-mile drag strip, including National Hot Rod Association races. Morrison is also a stop on the Lariat Loop National Scenic Byway, a 40-mile scenic byway established in the early 1920s to help locals experience the beautiful mountain landscapes near the Denver metro area.

The Morrison Inn is well known for its Mexican food and for the biggest Margaritas on the Earth. During the summer, the roof-top deck is enjoyed by diners who love the great outdoors and Colorado's magnificent weather and scenery.
