Beginning in 2006, all homes at Stapleton are part of the ENERGY STAR program, the government-backed symbol for energy efficiency. ENERGY STAR is a voluntary program managed by the Environmental Protection Agency with assistance from the U.S. Department of Energy. Prior to 2006, homes at Stapleton were required to meet the minimum level of the Built Green Colorado program administered by the Home Builders Association of Metro Denver.
The ENERGY STAR label is earned only after a home's energy efficiency is verified by an independent, accredited home-energy rater. We are proud to team with builders and community members who join us in our mission to be a neighborhood dedicated to sustainability. In Colorado, home energy raters are trained and accredited through E-Star Colorado, a non-profit organization committed to advancing energy efficiency in housing.
Stapleton is the largest community in Colorado and one of the largest master-planned communities in the United States to have 100% builder participation in the ENERGY STAR program.
